but if there is, I don't know what it is. I was just looking at the videos from the Nat's game today and one just struck me. In the foreground, Anthony Rendon is on deck. In the middle, Juan Soto is at bat. In the background the stadium, full of fans, wraps about 2/3rds of the way around the picture. Behind that, a lovely blue sky and puffy white clouds. You may enjoy other sports better, but I can't think of any that have prettier venues.

Well...not that I like it....but professional fishing happens on lakes, outside...not often in a city...

Squire,

I will never forget going to my first Major League game ....

Our Lutheran Pastor, Rev. August Westlin, a "dyed in the wool" Brooklyn Dodger fan*, took me to my first Major League Baseball Game .... in The Yankee Stadium, "The house that Ruth built" in the Bronx. The Yankees won, and one of my heroes, Nick Etten played first base for the "Bronx Bombers." It was in the 1940s.
Just to walk out of the tunnel and look at that "hallowed field " We had seats on the right side of the infield near first-base....Nick Etten was the first basemen....that should narrow the year.

"Dyed in the wool." Not "Died in the wool."

I never watch MLB. It's boring. Kinda like watching a chess tournament. But God Bless those who think this is entertaining.

1944 or 45.

My first game was also at Yankee Stadium. We were way up in the right field nosebleed seats. Al Zarrilla
put a homer right up among us. 1949.

Hipper is right about West Point in autumn... right down to the spit-shined shoes and the behavior of the "home crowd." Some things don't change, they remain constant and rock-solid... It's called "Tradition."

There isn't anything more beautiful than a walk off grand slam to win 4-3... Sorry about your team Colston. Sherzer threw a heck of a game and so did Hamels. Pitchers duel for sure. First game I've watched for a couple of weeks and it was a doozy. I couldn't stay up late enough to finish it, but sure saw the highlight film this morning.
