MacQuarrie was good. Nash Buckingham, Havilah Babcock, and Archibald Rutledge were great. If you ever find a copy of Deep Enough For Ivorybills by Jim Kilgo, buy it. One of the best books you've never read about the outdoors and rediscovering what life in the outdoors gives us.

So long, Patrick. Thank you for spending some time here. Enjoy your time with Buckingham, Ruark, Babcock, Rutledge, Hill, Kilgo, Maclean, and all the others.

That's a great list, Doug. No wonder why we grew up to appreciate creative writing like that and could laugh without reading all the newer crude words that now seem to fill the pages - even the humor writing.
I even passed the books on to friends (male & female, and to kids too).
