I found out some time ago that Laine irons shirts faster and better than I do. I just did some ironing and wished he were here.

That's pretty cold. Edward was raised by fastidious Lutherans who taught him to be self-reliant. You were raised with "help."

Premeris, ergo sum.

Squire,

I've seen a number of your shirts during the fishing outings, mountain visits, dinners, etc.
That said, I never noticed that you wore ironed shirts.

On the one hand, Brooks Brothers sells shirts now that are pretreated and reportedly don't need ironing.

On the other hand, Colston hasn't bought a new Brooks Brothers shirt since there was only one Brooks brother.

Laine knows derned well I use ironed shirts. I was ironing one preparatory to going to Dug's daughters wedding and he grabbed the iron and did it a lot faster than I would have.

(Do the name Tom Sawyer ring any bells for ya?)

Squire Newton,
There's a photo out there somewhere of, "The Fishermen" at that wedding. You looked as good as the rest of us in the shirt that I ironed for you. And, of course I am aware of the Tom Sawyer tale of slicking someone else to do a job for you. I just didn't want to see you looking like a "rube" after the efforts the Gilmore's made to make us all* sparkle. There's a great shot, including Ed Kelleher, that someone took floating around somewhere out there. As I recall, Squire, we got you looking right presentable...for an hour or so.

*I still miss having Mark Wendt on the board.
