The flies below were my contribution to a musky fly swap, thought you'se guys might get a kick out of them.

Image

The big pink and white one on the left is a hair (pun intended) over 13" and throws very nicely with an 8 wt.

I think they are called fish skull or fish mask.

Good guess, but nope. I have those, and they work OK, but...

Woven tubing, the same stuff you'd run computer cables or any other wiring you'd like to look nice, through, tied in twice and pushed back over itself. Virtually no weight, but moves a ton of water. Esox, unlike trout, respond to lack of subtlety pretty well. Bass also. Having a fly that hits the water like it fell off a 100 foot cliff is often a benefit...

Flymen has a product, and a few videos about it; I've taken it a step further.

...if you look hard at the three bottom flies on the left, you'll see the same "cone" under the front fiber...forces it to flair, holds no water, can throw it with an 8 wt., all day.

I'll pop up some detail pics over the next couple weeks if you're interested.

Here's the product on the Flymen website: https://flymenfishingcompany.com/collec ... -materials

...it's the same as any of that woven tubing you can but 25' of on Amazon for $8.00.

Decent video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2vof0sCar8

...there are more on YouTube.
