Just got a brand new James Lee Burke book, "New Iberia Blues." I'm always glad to spend some time with Dave Robicheaux.

Squire,
Burke's on my short list of writers that manage to keep me interested and involved...sorry I missed it this time ...but will look for it next go-round. I even like the semi-westerns he once in a while puts out.

Burke is a very talented writer, and he excels at creating an immersive atmosphere.

I gobbled up his books after I discovered them...Until i dawned on me that I didn't care for the atmosphere he was creating. That's a me problem, not a Burke problem.

He remains an exceptional author.

I just finished a book called Driving Yogi. It's the story of the relationship between Yogi Berra and Ron "Gator" Guidry. If you're at all interested in old time baseball stories, and the real inside picture of the New York Yankees, this is a great book.

Satch,

I had to smile at your reference to the old days of the NY Yankees.

I was thinking, Lou Gherig, Babe Ruth, Joe Gordon, Tony Lazzari, Johny Lindel, Phil Rizzuto, King Kong Keller, Joe DiMaggio and Snuffy Sternwice.....forgive the spelling.... Bux

I'm reading "Stengal" by Marty Appel. Lots of old time Yankee stuff and other teams, too.
