Not the musician, the food. My wife dug out a recipe that circulated in our family many years ago. It was originated from my ex sister-in-law, now divorced from my brother for 20+ years. I always remembered it being good, but dang is it good!!! I'll have to try and pass on the recipe if any are interested. Of course I know this isn't gourmet cooking, and probably can't be done in one of those froo froo hot water thingy's, but it sure is good eatin. Specially with mashed taters.

The best thing about a good meatloaf, is the meatloaf sandwiches in the days that follow.

This one isn't great, but works fine for a single guy.

1 egg
1 # Ground beef
2 tbs dried onions
2 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
1 cup crushed crackers or chips
1/4 tspn pepper

Cook in microwave 14.5 minutes on power level 6.

I am interested and promise not to use the water machine; meatloaf is a classic dish for the smoker.

You tell us all about it but.... this thread has turned out to be a big nothing-burger.

Let's amend that fisher.. If it's a nothing ...... then it's a nothing meatloaf sandwich, not burger. I'll find the recipe this afternoon when I get home.

Looking forward to it. I love meatloaf and made the mistake of making this one:

I used more pork in place of the veal. The family loved it so much, they said they won't eat my simple meat loaf any more and this one is more work and makes a bigger mess, but it is tasty.

Edited: Doc, here is one from Flay that you will probably like for sure - red chile glaze.

I would probably upgrade his recipe by substituting a more "robust" pepper in place of the poblano, but isn't everything made better with a red chile glaze?

Flay uses chile flavors a lot....if I see him on TV, I'll usually stop and watch.

Sous vide a 2-inch thick Chuck roast to 130 degrees with rosemary, garlic, thyme, nutmeg, st and black pepper. Then sear the crust.
