Check Ebay...I just started the auction a few hours ago. The rod is practically new...shows zero wear.

I have too many rods and I'm thinning the rod rack*. The rod is as close to new as any I have. I bought it on a trip to Montana with JD - right from the Winston showroom. It has seen little use since because I collected too many, and never took the top shelf rods where they might get bitched up.
And, the starting price is too low.

Bux

* My rack will be the last thing to go....it too is a classic and it holds 17 rods in rustic charm. ewl

Fellas: I've seen Bux's equipment. It's pristine...never saw even the hint of a fish induced set in any of his rods.

SQUIRE...You have eased in the perfect ball-buster endorsement in the history of this board...LOL.

The rod is a dandy, but, as you noted, I rarely encounter a trout that could possibly put a "set" in a fly rod.. even those of Asian cane.

Well done...you "prick with ears"....LOL

I wondered where my winston went. Ed must of put it in his car during one of the GOTCs. Wonder if he also has my 5 pc 5wt, my POF 308, and my 1977 Ford Bronco?

I've got one, too, and I'll sell it $40 cheaper than Ed's. :) :)

Gene,
Not having nasty boat-rash, nicks nor homemade repairs is considered a plus in the resale market. Having all of the guides present and the cork grip clean and not chewed up is also a factor.
I suspect boats cause more damage to good rods than pet dogs... but even pets can't trash gear like a car door, a trunk lid, or a distracted fisher who puts away a soggy rod in the closed tube.
Cane rods without a "set" in any of the sections is also a plus for value. You don't have to "baby" a fly rod, even a cane, but you do have to take care of it. But we all know that...from our youthful klutzy behavior.

Too late lads...a buyer showed up and the rod is shipping tomorrow AM. I'm happy, and the buyer will be happy too. As the world turns ...LOL.
