What is so hard to understand that the signs are posted for a good reason?

Many of he rivers I fish have headwaters waaaay up on the mountains...though there are warning signs galore.. these dorks continue to push the limits....and end up in a broken, bloody heap at the bottom of a cliff.
What a needless waste....and for what? "Hey guys, don't be chicken, look at this! OOOPs, splat!

It was far worse when I lived in Boulder. I was amazed at how many people died each year from accidents or total failure of preparation in the mountains. A lot of them came from deliberately pushing the envelope, but many seemed to result from ignorance.

The retrieval party should send a bill to the deceased's estate for their time and any other costs.

This has gone on forever and will not stop. But the taxpayers shouldn't be stuck with the bill.

Brad,
Boulder had an exceptional amount of idiots due to CU drawing in so many flatlanders that, at that age, have no common sense.

You can count on at least two of these events in Yellowstone every year along with at least one count of someone getting too close to a bison and getting upended and tossed 25 feet in the air.

If the deceased is an adult, unmarried without kids...who's gonna pay?

The estate. If they don't have an estate, then the last 20 voters who voted Democratic.

As a corporate loss prevention manager (safety, security, environment & fire prevention) working as part of a large hospitality company risk management team I came to realize there were three factors that would always offer opportunities for employment for my kind. They are Gravity; Greed and Stupidity. They cannot be defeated but sometimes managed.
