Colston and I frequented the FFReview forums and I think he invited me to the old Flyshop page, but we didnt meet until this board came online. The FFReview guys were nice and I fished with Joe Freer and Alex Norris, but they never really made the switch to the other pages.

Age is catching up with you, Robbie. We met at the first Big Butte GOTC and on the Flyfisherman board.

There was a GOTC in Montana? What is the story there?

Does anyone have the picture taken at the first GOTC 2002 in Pa. Can't remember the name.

Montana was not a GOTC; just a few guys on the board who met for a few days of fishing. The CO GOTC was the only one held west of Virginia and demonstrated that it is hard to get this gang to cross a river as big as the Mississippi.

Is the PA picture you seek the one of our four older members on the bridge?

Brad

You sure we didn't first lay eyes on each other in the offices of The Transylvania Times, circa 2002? You came by and interviewed with Stella about the News Editor's job and said something about how I didn't look like my avatar photo (which did make me look like a giant of a man - must have been the tiny salmon I was holding...)

Someone at Flyfishing Review turned me onto flyshop.com (later FFmag.com) where I learned names like Buxtehude, Beowulf, Newton and the like. I've usually gone by Tailingendloop, but I might have been Fliesguy07 or RobbieR.

I do remember Colston, Greg, Doug and Gary. I think I remember Gary from the Rocky Mountain board and actually made a couple trips to Cody. I remember Gene too but that was probably more from the Guns and Ammo board as he couldn't keep out of trouble on the FF one. Ha! I think I remember Old Frat from the RM board as well. There's probably others if my memory worked a little better.

I thought that other board was extinct.

I was browsing a classic cane site the other day and stumbled across our little pal from the orient.

No, Robbie, I'd met you before that. The Trans Times job didn't sound like such a good idea...putting out two papers a week for the same pay as I was getting for putting out one.
