I am loving that Army worn white uniforms to honor the 10th Mountain Division and it's snowing like crazy.

A short story I think you will appreciate" I have a friend who retired as a JAG officer Captain in the Naval Reserve, whenever I talked with him I would ask about his son who was in the Naval Academy. One day he replied "Jesse, he wants to be a Marine!" He sounded like he had completely failed as a parent. The last I remember his son is a Marine Captain. Dad is justifiably proud.

22 or so years ago, a young man came to me, on the recommendation of his uncle. The young man told me he was thinking of joining the Marines. I told Trevor he should go to college (he was/is very bright) and get a Navy ROTC scholarship. He did. He was commissioned as a Marine 2nd Lieutenant when he graduated.

Last year they pinned eagles on him. I talked to Trevor in August. He's considering retiring. I suggested he wait and see if he gets his star on his first go round. We'll see.
