“In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, bloodshed. They produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, five hundred years of democracy and peace. And what did that produce? The cuckoo clock.”

Left a lone a piece of steel will sit and rust. In the hand of a master smith with heat, hammering and quench the stress can produce a fine blade. How much progress in industry and medicine occurred during WWII?

Consider Japan and Germany ... from the ashes of WWII they flourished. Great Britain and France took decades to rebound, and then they each arose only to the lower rungs of their leagues. The Brits still are unable to build a decent automobile for their average income citizens. Even the Rolls Royce is a delicate clunker.
When is the last time you've seen a French or British automobile around town or on the interstates?

Jaguars are Indian now. Just like Budweiser is no longer an Amercan beer. Budweiser is Belgian.

Interesting fact about Jag. We outsource to Mexico and they go to India.

After a round of golf the other day we went across the road to Budweiser for a sandwich and beer. Their beer tasted so much better that day. I thought it was because it was hot and we were drinking fresh beer (always tastes better at the brewery), but maybe it's the Belgian connection ;)

If you thought bud tastes good, it was likely either heat exhaustion, a stroke, or you had just eaten four ghost peppers.

Although owned by Belgians, the Bud formula hasn't changed. It's still primarily Clydesdale piss.

Guy who used to do a talk show here in Atlanta would occasionally do a "What Your Car Says About You!" segment. For the Jag, his comment was "I make so much money I can afford to pay $60,000 for a car that stays in the shop 180 days per year."

So is MillerCoors. Owned by the same company.
