That's terrible news.

Being laid up in the hospital is never any fun. Hopefully they will get Jim out of the ICU sooner rather than later.

Gene, keep us posted. Tell Jim we are thinking about him.

ARMC, in Athens...it's now known as Piedmont or something. On Prince Ave. As of this morning, he's in ICU. When he gets to a room, I'll visit and furnish a report.

I talked with him this morning, Tuesday. He's in a lot of pain when he moves, on morphine but it still hurts when he moves or coughs. He's still in ICU and he's not sure exactly why. In addition to several ribs, he suffered vertibrae damage in his lower back, but it's not causing him distress.

So he's in good spirits but hurting a lot. Which isn't typical for YPJ. I personally feel he'd like to suffer in silence but maybe that's based on my experience.

Broken ribs are no fun...I broke one, in my late 20s...I don't even want to think about what that would be like 30 years later...much less breaking 10 of them.

I hope recovery is as fast and painless as possible.
