....and here we go again with New York March weather in North Carolina

Just about the time the gentle warmth of early Spring should be taking hold, the weather gods turned back the clock on us.
Here in Charlotte 30s at night to low 50s at noon. The mountains are back into the 20s with highs in the 40s.
Throw in a bit of wind to foul things up even more.
Granted, as a kid in Putnam County, NY I always began chasing the trout the 1st or 2nd Saturday of April - often with ice and dirty snow drifts still hanging around -- Keds sneakers were my wading shoes back then...and I sometimes missed the rocks I aimed for when leaping around.
An old college pal in "upstate" NY tells me that she has snow covering the fields and more on the way.

We'll be getting out soon I hope, for it can't stay cold forever...and," Hope springs eternal."

The dog's outside water bowl was frozen again last night....and I'd guess it will freeze again tonight. Even the birds are confused and there are flowers on the Rose of Sharon shrubs -- confusion galore....but it's still much better than New York State's March weather.

I was out with my wife yesterday someplace there was a television playing but I could not hear the sound, but I am pretty sure the story was about spray the blossoms of the apple trees in North GA to prevent freezing and frost bite.

Tomorrow looks a little warmer as does Sunday, which has about a 90% chance of rain all day.

It was 22 here yesterday morning. Maybe 10% of the blossoms on the apricot tree made it. The peach tree looks like it might be okay

I don't know what you all are complaining about. Our low this morning was 11 and the high was 22. Oh, you're not talking Celsius are you?

Now it has been snowing heavily in the mountains north of Charlotte and raining heavily here for the past 24 hours. I can only imagine the water levels of our foothills trout streams. Things could be worse, I could be in the northeast...can you say, "upstate New York " ?
Bux

It just turned to snow pellets.....the "Sunny South'? Just more false advertising.

My Dad's lasting rephrasing of the cliche about March, "In like a lion, out like a pig."

Wait...snow at 2" is "an accumulation"?

...That's got me giggling. The cities and towns around here don't even plow that much....
