A band of moderate snow located in advance of a strong cold front
was moving through the region this evening. The area of heavy snow
was about 50 miles wide and extended from Independence to
Blacksburg to Covington, including the New River Valley, Alleghany
Highlands, Mountain Empire Region, Greenbrier Valley, and the
mountains of eastern West Virginia and western Virginia.
Temperatures in the snow area at or near the freezing mark. During
the period of moderate snow, some accumulation on road surfaces
will be possible and an inch or two of snow accumulation is
expected in grassy surfaces and elevated objects. Snow
accumulation will tend to be slightly greater at higher
elevations, especially at or above 2500 feet. activity is
expected to move east of the New River and Roanoke Valleys within
the next couple of hours, thus no major travel problems are
anticipated given the warm ground temperatures.
If you plan to be traveling through any of these areas this
evening, be alert for possible slush and slick spots on roads in
areas of heavier snow and be prepared for greatly reduced
visibility in areas of heavier snow. Reduce speed and allow extra
distance between you and the vehicle in front of you.
Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio or commercial radio and
television for the latest weather information.

All this weather, distress, anxiety and despair will is so written! We are just getting all of this rubbish finished and done with prior to our arrival at Meadow Lane....we will have balmy weather, ideal water conditions, gentle breezes and predatory trout ready to humiliate us....they will fail! We will enjoy ourselves...the dinners will be legendary, Colston will pontificate without being urged. Jayne will serve a great dinner...The Gilmores will do the same...I will fake and tap dance my way through a dinner by providing plentiful wines to blur the keen taste buds that assemble each Spring.
We've been doing this in New York, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania and elsewhere...all successfully.
I'm relaxed now, the realtor is paid and she too is relaxed, and that is a basic good sign...
Ed Kelleher, Fred Bridge and Jack Hanley will be with us in spirit...smiling....and, we shall toast them.
All's right with the world.

Bux, 84 and not counting.

That's God's way of telling you to stay off the highway after imbibing. Obviously he doesn't have a place for you as yet.
