Looks like I could live in St. Lawrence County...but that's almost as far north as...Further North...

...and about as different from NYC as possible. It's the "city" part I can't deal with. But I'm glad - seriously - that lots of others enjoy it.

If you get the chance, and get your reservation in....try this gem on Long Island. Some of the trout are :o
scary big and the river is very carefully maintained. It is far from wild, but largely hidden from its surroundings
This will give you a head-start to check things out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Connetquot_River.

There are other small streams on "The Island", but this is the best known and best maintained.

I saw that, the hotel we stay at when we are out there is not far from the headwaters:

...I'm not sure the season is open when we are there, the last week in January every year.

We might have a board meeting out there this year, might be open then.

I was shivering at the dog park yesterday in my quilted winter jacket. Today I as wearing a short sleeved cotton shirt in 75 degrees. Tomorrow will be 81. Then back to winter again. These extreme fluctuations may be a part of the reason for the flu being so bad this year.

Brad, that's just typical Texas weather, I honestly believe the old "if you don't like the weather, stay around and it will change" was first spoke in North Texas. You are lucky there wasn't a tornado thrown in to keep you alert.
