Well, sports fans, I'll muddy the water just a bit.
Back in early July of this year I took a hard fall in the garage - solid concrete floor. I knew right away that the left leg was broken. Turned out the break was just below the socket. No practical way to set a cast...Doc just cleared a surface and installed two long screws to keep the bone joined. All sorts of muscles were cut and reattached....and I healed at home - still healing, this isn't a fast process.
I've got a "walk-around" four-wheel dolly-stroller" plus a few canes and crutches to provide stability of a sort.
John Macko called the other day to pick a day for our usual fall trout venture.....it is not going to happen
for a few more months I'm afraid.
I recall seeing an old geezer sitting chest deep in an aluminum beach chair a year or so ago. The scene was humorous ....back then.
I can shuffle about with a cane and on the patio to use the grill. It's coming around, but too slowly...
Now go catch some some nice trout and tell us about the excitement.
Cheers, Bux
Details: Flattening a large box so that it could be stuffed it the recycle can.....jumped hard on the last fold and the box slid away...I even heard the break...dumb, dumb...dumb....and I'm  now paying for it. Bux

I was sure you'd told me leg but your long absence here had me thinking maybe it somehow effected your fingers or wrist. Glad to hear from you.

Bux, glad you're back. I hope healing goes well, and as fast as is good for you.

but...do we have to catch trout?

Did an 8.5 mile float for muskies Saturday...had four on, one in the boat.

Welcome back, been wondering when you'd recover enough to return.Hope things move along a little faster for ya,healing is so much slower as we get older,as I'm sure you already know.If it makes you feel any better, its been determined that it is the hippies fault you broke your hip.

It’s good to have you back, Ed. It looks as if you’re in for a long, relaxing winter. Take all the time you need for recovery, and in the spring, you can resume your flamenco dancing lessons.

Glad to hear from you Ed. I was a little worried. I'll say a prayer for you. May work, then again might not.

white dog? Thank the good Lord you're back. It's so good to hear from you. Do as the MDs and Donna say and you might be fishing again by opening day. In the mean time don't do any jumping around. You were missed.

Sounds like a classic case of “Peter Pan syndrome” . . . some people just never learn. ;)

Stay the course, Ed. You’ll be able to ditch that stroller before long.

Ed, glad to see you posting on the forum again.

Do what the doctors say and keep the leg active.

Maybe no fishing for now....but you can always tie flies until then.
That will help keep your mind close to the water.
